Between Nantes and Lézardrieux

Hello. We are driving up in early May from Nantes to Lézardrieux which is near Paimpol. Would value any suggestions on places to visit en route or even after we arrive at Lézardrieux. Sites? Great restaurants? Thanks very much.

Lézardrieux is in a very nice area of Brittany.

How long will you be there ?

For the trip between Nantes to Lézardrieux... You want to do it in one day ? Or you are planning to take your time and visit some more on your way there ?

Hello. We plan to make the trip in one day but are open to non-direct routes in favor of more scenic or cultural ones. We will be there for 2 nights before moving on to Dinan for another 2 nights. Is a detour via Vannes recommended? Thank you!

The problem is there are several routes you can take between those two places and dozens of possible visits along the way so they are too numerous to mention all of them. The most direct route between those two places is by highway to Rennes and then towards Saint Brieuc. Perhaps making a stop or two near Lézardrieux is a good idea since you're near your destination and if the day gets late you don't have far to go. Plus, there is more to see and do in that area than is possible with just a 2 night stay.

You can do some coastal drives on the small country roads north of Saint-Quay-Portrieux where there are many scenic views of the rugged coast. The medieval town of Guingamp and/or Tréguier would be nice too, as is Paimpol. Maybe the Pink Granite Coast is already on your agenda in that area. I'm sure others will have further suggestions for you to pick and choose from.

In one day you won't have time to do much sightseeing on the way up as there are different possibilities.

Vannes is a really lovely town worth seeing !

Rochefort-en-terre is a designated a “beautiful villages of France”.

Josselin a "Petite Cité de Caractère" a nice town with a castle along a river.

Just to name a few.

Around Lézardieux like French_Mystique said lots of nice small little roads along the coast with great scenic views. Paimpol, Tréguier, Lannion are nice towns. Bréhat island is also nice to see. The Côte de Granit Rose is really a must.

And I would agree that the three places plannerHaolic mentions are all lovely and worth a visit, although they aren't really on your direct route so just account for that.
