Biarritz airport to saint jean de luz

What is the best and cheapest way to get from the biarritz airport to SJDL. Had a quick look at the buses but not sure where it would drop us off in relation to the hotel we are staying at which is next to the train station. Not sure if there is a train station near airport. Does anyone know how much a tax would cost?

Many thanks

Ps planning to go in July.

Best is not cheapest. A taxi would cost a bit, the distance is 16km but obviously a lot quicker than bus then train.

Most convenient alternative is to take city bus route C to the railway station then a train to St Jean de Luz. But even on weekdays there are gaps between trains of more than an hour and it probably doesn't make sense to wait an hour for a train to make a 17 minute journey.

Bus C runs every 20 - 30 minutes on weekdays and Saturdays but is very infrequent on Sundays. The journey to the station takes only 7 minutes. You can take a taxi from the airport to the station of course.

Trains to St Jean de Luz are irregular, fairly frequent on weekdays but fairly thin at weekends. Timetable is here.

I can't get the bus timetables to open ( Erreur système ) so cannot check where the bus stops. But as your hotel is next to the station, the train sounds best if you don't want to pay for a taxi.

I hope that helps.

To get from the airport to the train station in Biarritz you need to get a bus on Line C. The train station in Biarritz is called Gare La Négresse. Then get a train to Saint Jean de Luz.

Bus information in Biarritz: http://www.chronoplus.eu

An airport transfer for 1-8 people should cost around €40. Not sure about a taxi.

Biarritz train station is not very close to Biarritz airport so we caught a bus to Saint Jean de Luz.

The bus drops you off next to the train station so very convenient if you are staying near there. To get to our hotel (Grand Hotel) was a bit of a long walk in the heat so for the return journey we used an airport transfer biarritzairporttransfers.com/Biarritz-to-Sai…
