History in Colmar and surroundings

Hi all,

I'm visiting with mom for three days in June. She's very much interested in learning more about WWII on this trip. With our limited time, is the Colmar Pocket Museum in Turckheim worth a visit? Are there any other historical sites or walking trails recommended? We will have a car and will be staying near Lapoutroie.

Thank you!

I strongly recommend visiting the Linge Memorial Museum above Orbey, even though most of the info relates to WW1 and follow it up with a trip to the Poche de Colmar museum which is in Turckheim. You could also visit the Struthof concentration camp in Natzwiller in the Vallée de la Bruche ... you can't get a more dark and poignant experience of WW2 than that.
