A dressy night out in Manchester

Hi three gals are heading to Manchester this weekend and would like to get dressed up to go out on both Fri and Sat night. By dressed up we mean no jeans and t-shirt but ongish black sparkley dress. Can anyone recommend pubs/clubs we would not look out of place in. Not sure what the dress code is like in Manchester, but someplaces can be reallt casual. Ohh we are all over 30.

Thanks

Hi

Where abouts are you staying?

Will you be planning on going for a meal?

Hi Laura

We are staying in a flat in Castle Quays at Castlefield which I believe is near Deansgate train station. We are booked for a meal on Sat night to San Carlo in King Street West and thought about going for cocktails first at the Hilton which has a bar on the 23rd floor for some fab views of the city. Looking for a nice pub/club after our meal where we wont look out of place. Many thanks.

Try the Printworks on Cross Street. It's usually quite dressy in there, depending on where you go. Try starting off in Lloyds at the top of the Printworks for cheap drinks and then head down to Pure Magic club - I was in there on Saturday night and was surprised at how dressy it was in there.

Have fun!

Manchester on a Friday and Saturday night is a real mixed bag of dress styles and you definately won't look out of place all dressed up. Some of the bars on Deansgate locks might suit you. Sugar Lounge is there, which I find ever so slightly on the pretentious side but it is dressy and stylish and might be worth one drink in.

Thanks to all who have replied. Hoepfully we will try the Hilton before dinner so it may not be as busy. So looking forward to visiting Manchester, have never been. before. Bye
