Girlie weekend away

Hi everyone

I'm oranising a weekend away with some old school friends,we are staying 2 nights in the city and we have finalised our plans for the saturday night which includes 4 course dinner, cocktails and dancing but i'm looking for somewhere to eat on the friday night thats cheap and cheerful as we are blowing most of our budget on the saturday night!! Are there any restaurants that let you bring your own wine?? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks :-)

BeanA will probably have afew good ideas; the only place I know that allows the BYOW is the unicorn - which is grand...but a little out of town....

It's close to Dooradoyle shopping centre...which has a cinema...and across from the Regional hospital if anything goes wrong:)

Bella Italia is inexpensive, central....and reliable:

I really can't think of any BYOB locations. I didn't realise that the Unicorn was BYOW - thanks Ferdia!!

Another location with great food but on the outskirts and owned by the same family as the Unicorn Family is Hughs on the Green. They have a lovely Chilean House white with beautiful grapefruit undertones for only €12 a bottle.

You can get a two course meal for €16.99.

Its out at Coonagh Cross near the Travelodge.

Other than that - cheap and cheerfull would be the Wokking Chinese on O'Connell Street. This is excellent food in a very basic surrounding (we get all our takeaways from here so I can vouch for the excellence of the food). And you are bang in the centre of town so there are lots of local pubs.

And again endorsing Bella Italia in Thomas Street. Great food and great staff.

we got great deal in the Savoy before Christmas, afternoon tea and bubbles, dinner and two nights b and b for €110,plus a cocktail thrown in. It's an excellent location for shopping, down the road from Clohessys pub and across from a multi-storey that you get reduced rates on.There a restuarant attached to the hotel called Hamptons, we didn't do byob, because we had opened a few of our own upstairs first!!
