Cost of a pint in Limerick!

I'm after some advice please!

Me and a few female friends want to visit Ireland in June, they're worried about the price of beer in Dublin so I was wondering if Limerick is much cheaper? what's the average price for a pint? or a vodka and coke?

Also is there more traditional local pubs in Limerick?

Thank you - Clare

Can't help you with the price of a pint in Limerick as I'm not a big drinker but in terms of "traditional local pubs" in Limerick, take a look at Souths in Quinlan Street/The Crescent and Nancy Blakes in Denmark Street.

The above are both popular but traditional style pubs.

Also look at Flannerys on Shannon Street.

Heineken €4.30 €4.40

Guinness €4.00

Bulmer (pint bottle) €4.90....

Fosters €3.40

There are some places that are cheaper... all drinks €3.50.

Be aware that Ireland is not the natural home of Pre/Post mixers so you will more often than not need to buy a small bottle of Coke, Soda etc. Red Lemonade is usually on the bar to top Wiskey.
