evening recommendations?

We'll be in Killarney for 2 nights on an upcoming February trip. I was sick last time & slept almost the whole time. DH didn't really leave the pub in Killarney Towers b/c I couldn't go. We have tours planned for the day but what is there to do at night? Dinner is included on our tour.

My 83 year old dad will be with us. He can only walk about 2-3 blocks. Plus it will be February. If your recommendation is farther, are there taxis?

I just realized we're actually going to be in Killarney on Valentine's Day. I think we'll be ditching poor dad for a while ;)

Are there any romantic spots?

Romantic spots - yes. Sitting by the lake in the moonlight........ assuming there isn't rain or a gale blowing!!

In February there will be few tourists around so you will be hanging out with the locals. And Valentine's night is a bit of a commercialised swizz here....

Avoid the restaurants on Val's night. Most are a rip off

That sounds the same as here. I hate going out on Valentines day. Over priced and over crowded.

Dinner is included on our tour. Is there some place quaint & romantic we can go for a drink? Or should I just assume Valentine's day is the same around the world & give in to the commericalism?

There's always a way to create romance in spite of the commercialism....

As previously mentioned, a quiet walk hand in hand by the lakes is ALWAYS romantic. Or a few quiet moments spent to gether in the woods just listening to the sounds of nature.

And Claddagh Rings are known as Irish Wedding rings. Why not buy your significant other one?
