Are you driving from Galway to Belfast and then back to Dublin airport? How many days do you have for this?

i had visions of a whole herd of cattle being droven (or is it droved?) from galway to belfast!!!

but if it is DRIVING, then it is easily done in a day , even with stops if required.

use google earth. this will show you times, distance and route. from this you can then decide which towns villages etc you would like to stop at

Yes, driving from Dublin to Galway to Belfast, and back to Dublin. We have one week, is this realistic?

" Through Leitrim and Longford go my cattle and me .."

In any case , OP, as someone mention the famous cattle raid of Cooley, the Cooley peninsula is just off your route and well worth a look , you can divert off close to Drogheda and emerge close to Newry .
