Paris to Dublin

Hi,

I need to get from Paris to Dublin in about early March 2014. I found out some quote on flights which were AUS$300-$400 flying with Air France, British Airways and Air Lingus.

Is there a cheaper way of getting there? I don't mind a longer/slower route e.g. train, bus, ferry etc. I don't have to depart from Paris, I could depart from a closer place than Paris in France perhaps.

I have just booked the Celtic Link departing on 12-03-14 at 21:00.

It says it will arrive at Rosslare at 15:00 the next day but the duration shows 5 hours. This doesn't make sense to me. Any ideas?

Presume it's just an error and should say 19 hours.

Apologies, afterwards I realised the 16th of Feb is a Sunday and there's no bus service to or from the port on Sundays as far as I know.

For the 21.00 hrs sailing on the Wednesday at least there are several possible bus journeys. Depending on what time you arrive in on the train, an option could be to have a wander around central Cherbourg before catching the bus (it also has a stop on Schuman).

Wishing you an enjoyable trip. A pilot boat normally escorts the ferries to/from Rosslare a little way in and out of the harbour.
