Ceilidh in Dublin around New Year's Eve

I'm going to Dublin from 29th December to the 1st January and would love to go to a ceilidh one night. Please can you tell me if there are any that are open to the public.

Thanks

You might contact these folks directly - they normally organise a New Years Eve ceilí comhaltas.ie/locations/detail/culturlann/

Comhaltas [coal-tas] is the Traditional Irish music & dance association and HQ is about 5 miles south of the city in Monkstown.

It's probably worth pointing out that this is not something most locals would partake in or would I imagine there would be many about.

Some of the tourist aimed Irish dance shows may have some aspect of this if you check.

There will be set dancing in OShea's merchant pub on Merchants Quay on Mon 30 Dec starting at 10 pm and will go on past midnight , note there will not be ceili dances only sets and an odd waltz , strangers always welcome .

dublinxix is correct. Ceilís tend to be locally organised and publisized by word of mouth among those who like that sort of thing. They take place in Church halls and Gaelic sports halls and the like.

Maybe have a look at this? Not so much a ceili as such but trad music and dancing...but touristy rather than anything else.

There's also a dance show in the Arlington.

Probably not exactly what you had in mind!
