transfer distance from stenna ferry to train to thurles

Could you please advise me what the distance is from the stenna ferry in dublin to the train station to catch a train down to Thurles? Are there buses for transfers or is it walkable? Thanks

The Stena Ferry docks at Terminal 2 in Dublin Port. Dublin Bus #53 connects the port with the city centre. dublinbus.ie/en/… It will drop you on Talbot Street which is just around the corner from the Luas at Bus Aras. Take the Luas to Heuston (direction: Tallaght or Saggart) where you can take the train to Thurles. The #53 service is really infrequent though and you may just be better off with a taxi.

Per Stena website stenaline.co.uk/ferry/… :

When you arrive in the Stena Line Terminal 2 building at Dublin Port off the 02:30hrs and 13:50hrs departures from Holyhead, there is also a coach service which will transfer you to Dublin City Centre, stopping at Connolly DART Rail Station and Westmoreland Street. There is also a drop off point at Heuston Rail Station and the fare for this is €4.00 Adult Single and €2.00 for a Child Single.

The taxi would cost between €15 and €20.

It sounds like the option scampibear suggested would be good though.

Have used the coach mentioned after disembarking the 13.50 ex Holyhead Stena Line sailing and can confirm it's a straightforward hassle-free experience. Comfortable coach ready and waiting just outside the door of the terminal.

If you have a through SailRail ticket from a station in England to Thurles (cheaper than separate train and ferry tickets) the coach transfer is the only leg of the journey not included in the ticket price.

A note of caution if arriving by Stena Line and wishing to use Dublin Bus route 53 - this scheduled public bus route passes the Stena Line terminal (Terminal 2) but the nearest stop is the best part of ten minutes walk away outside the Irish Ferries & Isle of Man terminal (Terminal 1).
