My boyfriend and I are travelling to Dublin at the end of July. We're both in our late 20's and are wondering what to wear. We know the weather can be chilly and unpredictable, but we don't want to look out of place by being in hoodies the whole time. What do Dubliners wear?

Dublin is a modern city and pretty much everything goes from hoodies to high fashion.

So wear whatever you would wear at home

You wouldn't wear a hoodie in Philly at that time of year. Nor I imagine would any of the locals hereabouts.

It should be in the 60s and 70s most of the time, but Ireland can rain a lot so maybe a waterproof rain slicker would be good. It is possible to chill off in the 50s at night, but if you're on the go you should be warm enough with one windbreaker/raincoat and one sweater on your trip. You'll probably see in Dublin what you would see in most American cities, but don't wear white tennis shoes ("trainers"), they'll give you away as an American tourist.

Yeah, you want to leave the locals guessing until the moment you open your mouth to speak. :)

The style at the moment is mainly trousers/slacks or jeans coupled with a pretty blouse or top and a smart jacket thrown over it. Also dresses with short cardigans. Ugg boots, leggings and hoodies just don't seem to want to go away! Tennis shoes like Converse and Vans are popular.
