Must see/do in Dalkey?

I have seen some gorgeous footage of Dalkey and would like to spend an afternoon there before returning to Dun Laoghaire. Any suggestions on sights or walks? Pubs or music? Thanks so much!

Hopefully you will get a nice day and I suggest you stop by the cake shop linked below, pick up some take-out coffee and cakes (if raining sit upstairs) and head down to nearby Dillon's park and plonk yourself opposite the jaw-dropping fab views of Dalkey island. Then, cross the road and ramble up the relatively tame summit of Sorrento park and take in the wonderful views across Dublin.

Also worth visiting and even swimming in if you are a good swimmer is the: Vico Road Swimming area. The link doesn't work. no. 1 on the attached link if it works.

Uasal has beaten me to it with the Heritage Centre and ilovedalkey.

Here's another walk http://walksireland.com/?p=129

Dalkey was once the medieval port for Dublin as ships couldn't access the Liffey because of silt and mud.

My favourite artist lives in Dalkey. Here are some of his pictures that include pictures of the area.

On a clear day, views from the obelisk on Dalkey hill are amazing. Even if you don't make it up the hill, you can take the DART as far as Killiney. The views between Dalkey station and Killiney station are amazing.

Today you might even see Michelle O and her daughters having lunch in one of my favourite pubs.
