19th Birthday - Clubs/Bars/General things to see&do

I'm going to Dublin on the 22nd-26th of October for my birthday and need some ideas on where to go.

We'll be staying in the Best Western at Sheldon Park so looking for places in the city centre or close to. I'm going to be 19 and will be travelling with a group of other 19 year olds and a 28 year old (all female) so looking for the more younger hang outs mostly.

Maybe a good comedy or open mic night somewhere too?

Any ideas would be great :) Thanks

Are you aware that the Sheldon Park, is quite a ways out of the city? It is however on the Luas Red line, which should get you to the city centre in 20-25 mins.

In terms of comedy clubs, you should try http://www.laughterlounge.com/, or http://www.theinternationalcomedyclub.com/.

There are a myriad of clubs and pubs around Dublin city centre.

I dont know how many you are travelling with but some city centre bars dont like large groups and some have a over 21's policy - just be aware.

I would try Break for the Border - mixed age group - mixed music policy or closer to the Sheldon , the Red Cow, nice food and younger crowd club next door.

It's easy to get into the city from Sheldon Park, luas or a bus from Naas Rd. But it'll be a taxi back out, probably cost around €20.

Just be careful going into places with a big group, like Dublinminx said a lot of places are over 21 and some are over 23. But if you split into smaller groups and don't draw too much attention to yourselves you shouldn't have too much bother, Dicey Riley's is good, and then you can always go to Coppers!
