Loved the Westbury

Little pricier at €50 a head but definitely worth it lovely food, can try twenty of the teas if you like, staff were lovely too

I'm already looking into going again with some friends

Loved the Merrion too.

A friend recently enjoyed the Afternoon Tea in The Castleknock Hotel so much that she got be a voucher for it as a present. I haven't tried it out yet but it might be a good option for you if Gran doesn't like to walk far as you can drive and park easily there.

The Merrion is the only one that can compete with the Shelbourne in my opinion. After that it’d be the Westbury.

It's the type of thing that you have to go with on the recommendation of someone else. We had afternoon tea in the Heritage Hotel recently that was a bit of a joke/disaster. It was won as part of a bigger prize by Mrs. Box. Cost was €60 for two.

Nice as a treat but I am not sure that I would be rushing back to spend that type of money on a few macaroons, salmon sandwiches and scones. :)

However I respect the recommendations of the above posters who I know to be connoisseurs of the macaroon. Granny will love it.
