October to Dublin for 7 days

Hi, I will be going Dublin with my friend for 7 days in October month.

Would like to know where to see the lots of autumn leaves with red colour?

And also would like to know which part of Ireland can see traditional, charming and beautiful countryside/village?

Thank you so much for your info!

Sharon

Hi Sharon,

There are no guarantees about the leaf colour. And it also depends on when in October you will be here.

At the moment, the leaves are already beginning to turn, so I reckon early October would be far better than late October this year.

There are lots of traditional charming villages in the countryside.

Glendalough is a lovely wooded area www.glendalough.ie and there are a number of lovely little villages not too far a drive away - e.g. Inistioge is gorgeous http://www.inistioge.ie/ But there are lots more around the country.

Are you hiring a car?

And when in October will you be visiting

Take the 44 bus to Enniskerry and walk down the R117 to Herbert Road and Bray.

I will be there from 12 to 17 October (7 day 6 nights). I can't drive and i hope that can get any transport to go there and stay for 2 nights :)

Hope that you can help to plan a good itinerary for us too :)

Really appreciate your great help!

Cheers!

You could go up to Northern Ireland.

Hi Sharon,

I hope you are well?

There are doubtless lots of nice villages and woods outside of Dublin and in Ireland generally. However, you don't NEED to go outside of Dublin to see nice autumn colour. There are several well-known Dublin areas where you should see lovely colours in the autumn. These include: St Stephen's Green, Phoenix Park, The Grand Canal, The National Botanic Gardens, etc.

If you use Google and search for autumn images for these areas, you will see what I mean.

I hope this is helpful and that you have a great stay in October!!

All the best,

Tony

I second Glendalough and Co. Wicklow in general.
