Great breakfast in Cork?

Hello,

This will be our first morning of our first ever visit to Ireland that won't involve landing from an overnight transatlantic flight. It's going to be a casual day for us (trying to recoop some jet lag and settle in) and we're looking to kick things off with a tasty, solid breakfast establishment for a full breakfast. Any suggestions or favorites?

Thanks

Try Idaho Cafe Caroline St, Cork just off St Patrick Street or the Farmgate Cafe in the English Market (both reviewed on here by me among others). Lots of other places if having looked at these you want more choice

Idaho (corner of Caroline St and Maylor St) does great breakfasts, although they aren't the traditional Irish breakfast, but then you probably won't want one of those every day you're in ireland anyway.

The Liberty Grill (Washington St) is another place that fits into that category.

The Farm Gate cafe in the English Market is another good option offering both the traditional "fry" (they actually grill everything in there) and other options.

Finally, The Continental Restaurant (Maylor St) and Nash's (Princes St) are good options too.

Be aware that almost all these are only open Monday to Saturday. Sunday morning options are much rarer. The Bodega opens at 11am and does good breakfasts, but at a price. The Flying Enterprise opens at 8am most mornings and I think it is open on a Sunday morning too, but I'm not so certain of the time.

A third vote for liberty grill - we were there last month and there was a queue out the door waiting for a table - the cinnamon toast was unbelievably good!
