Pizza, pubs and maybe Chinese near hotel Issac?

Hi, heading to Cork for a bit of shopping. Staying in Hotel Issac in an apartment (I saw the bad reviews but we're not too picky and it's cheep!) anyway... Any suggestions on a decent pub walking distance for 4 women (hate to say we're old but age 33-50).Maybe pizza or Chinese in the area? We're saving the money fior shopping so going for cheap eats. Thanks for the help. We're living in the middle of nowhere and don't get out much...:-)

There's a few pubs that should see you OK. The Shelbourne and Dan Lowrey's are just across the road, while The Corner House and Sin É on Coburg St are close by and also quite nice. For real night life you'll have to cross the river, but for a few drinks, they'll manage to be not too busy, but busy enough that they'll still be enjoyable.

Restaurants will be a bit trickier. There are some good ones in the area (Isaac's, Greene's, Star Anise) and some cheap ones, but the only one that is both good and cheap that I can think of is Gourmet Burger Kitchen.

For Chinese or pizza, you're best off crossing the river. Try Yuan Ming Yuan or The Ambassador for Chinese. Cafe Bar Deli, Milano and Il Padrino are your best bets for pizza without going too far.

Isaacs. Restaurant is lovely.

If you walk to Patrick street a 5 minute walk there are loads of restaurants on the side streets off this street such as Mexican, (French church street) and Italian ( Oliver plunkett street)

You are very central so you will have fun. Dan lowryys pub across the road is nice for a quiet drink.

Have fun.
