Tipping in a salon

Any advice for tipping in a beauty salon? I will be having an updo for a wedding and a manicure at different salons. Is there a precentage that is usual? Thank you

Krycia, I don't think there are any set rules for tipping in a beauty salon or hairdressers. However, I really think that if you get great and lovely service you should tip. The usual percentage is about 10%. In my own hair salon I give a 5 Euro tip to the stylist and 2 Euro to the girl who washes my hair.

There is no obligation to tip, you do whatever you feel you should do. Great and friendly service - tip. Average service - no tip.

I hope you'll enjoy the service at both salons and then have a hooley at the wedding!

Sorry, Krycia, just realised that tapl also replied to your other duplicate topic.

Yes, tipping is a hotly contested topic here but I am in the "tipping category". In my opinion good service deserves a tip but it honestly is up to you.
