November trip to Ireland recap- day 3 Kilkenny to Kilarney

It was Sunday and attended Catholic mass at St. Canice's church. Done in 22 minutes and saw a sign showing the scenic route to Rock of Cashel- we are feeling lucky now.

Found our way to through the countryside to Cashel and visited the Rock. The day was sunny when we went in but turned cold and rainy. This feels like the weather everyone gripes about. The Rock was very historic and the tour guide was energetic. We even ran into the couple from Holland we met at dinner last night. We took longer than we thought so we skipped a trip to Cork to head right for Kilarney. I am glad we did because it took a little longer to get there than we thought.

Arrived at the Springfield Lodge B&B, Kay O'Shea is super. We have a little daylight so we drive to Ross Castle- OK and no entrance fee- and see the lake. We follow the signs up the winding road to Toric Waterfall and the Ladies View. The waterfall is more impressive but both are good.

It started to rain hard at night when we were walking around Kilarney. It seemed more expensive and touristy than Kilkenny- kind of like Lake Geneva Wisconsin without the taffy and tee shirts. A lot of restaurants with 20 Euro entrees.

Don't miss Kilarney National Park- it was great.

Wish some of our masses only went for 22 mins! How long did it take you to drive from the rock to Killarney?

Isn't St Canice an Anglican cathedral? Do they do catholic masses as well? Maybe that's why it was only 22 minutes.
