There are a number of threads on Adare Manor Villas here and it might be worth your while to read them:

tripadvisor.ie/ShowForum-g211880-i1928-Adare…

Dublin to Adare is pretty much all motorway bar the last couple of miles. It should only take you 2.25 hours to drive from the outskirts of Dublin to Adare. But if you want to stop off here are a number of suggestions:

Newbridge Silver www.newbridgesilverware.com

Irish National Stud and Japanese Gardens irishnationalstud.ie

The days are going to be short but here are a few suggestions:

For short trips in the Limerick area, take a look at this thread - everything bar the Georgian House is still open, however Lough Gur and Craggaunowen are likely to be closed when you are visiting tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g186591-i88-k33871…

Further afield - Cork City and Blarney Castle are only about 90 minutes away from you as is Killarney.

I don't do well on redeye's so i might take your advice about heading straight to Adare. After the long flight, any suggestions for breakfast or lunch along the way? We are also first time drivers on the other side of the road!

I live in Adare and travel frequently backwards and forwards to Dublin airport (2 hours for me). Don't worry about driving on the left, it is highway all the way and easy to do once you leave the airport area.

Although there are some nice places for breakfast/lunch in Dublin, I have never found anything between there and Limerick.

I would suggest getting something at the airport, missing the last of the traffic and having lunch in Adare.

For the 6 nights, there is plenty to do - rock of Cashel, ring of Kerry, Dingle and Blasket islands, cliffs of Moher, Galway, etc.

Enjoy a drink at Aunty Lena's in Adare.

If I was stopping, I'd probably look at Limerick City.

Otherwise, most of Bean A's suggestions are good.

The Rock of Dunamase is also not far off the N7.

Just curious, Blackgreen, which suggestions aren't?

And this isn't posted in an antagonistic way - I'm just interested in your viewpoint.

Not sure but The Adare manor usually does something for thanksgiving as most of its guests come in from the States. If you just want a pub meal then Auntie Leena's is good. I am sure there is somewhere in Limerick that does do a Thanksgiving Dinner but the name is lost in my memory somewhere?
