eating suggestions in Perth please

Hi, I am stopping over in Perth Travel Lodge for a night beginning of March and wonder if anyone can recommend a nice place to go for an evening meal in Perth, nothing expensive but would like a good quality meal and also a nice place for breakfast after our overnight stay.

Any suggestions gratefully received, thanks in advance!

Nice places to eat include Deans at Lets Eat (can be dear but often have pre theatre menus), The Glass Rooms at the Concert Hall. Also worth looking at 5pm.co.uk for special offers at more expensive places such as 63 Tay Street. Often have good early supper menus.

Not sure about breakfast I'm afraid as I'm not too sure what time places open. Try Wilows on St Johns Street opp City Hall.

Thanks very much for that info. I have just been onto the website 5pm.co.uk and have added to my favourites!

Still on the lookout for breakfast suggestions - can anyone else help?

There is a Brewers Fayre type place next to the Travelodge which will probably do breakfast. In town I would recomend Cafe Canto in George St (near the Concert Hall), Red Rooms at Perth Theatre (opens at 10am) or Willows. If you are travelling by car other options include Gloagburn at Tibbermore - follow signs to Crieff and you will see signs after Huntingtower (about 5/10 mins from Travelodge); or my breakfast favourite, the clubhouse at Murrayshall Hotel in Scone - really good bacon and black pudding rolls (15/20 mins across town). There is also a new cafe just opened in McEwans Home Shop (Watergate) which looks good (have only had coffee) and McEwans cafe in the main store would also be an option.

For evening meal, Let's Eat is good but fairly expensive (service wonderful - my son works on Friday and Sat!), 63 Tay St good, similar price to Let's Eat. Kerachers has a good pre-theatre menu, Cafe Breizh good and more reasonably priced. My current favourite is Sante tapas, but also serves main courses, it has a different vibe to most places in Perth. Further out the Anglers Inn at Guildtown is good - gastro-pub style.

Great, appreciate all those suggestions. I must admit I have not even checked what's attached to the Travelodge as I was hoping to get something locally rather than the average chain food.

I will have a car so opens up the options and I will report back on where I go!

Try Breizh in High Street for a really super French meal good value for money - worth every penny. They also do fabulous Pizzzas. I have never been disappointed when eating there. They are open for breakfast.
