Don't think Balfour Castle serve lunches to the general public! But you could always contact the owners to check.

What would you like to do? Will you have a car? Where are you staying?

All this will have a bearing on " what to do"

Yes we have a car and realise some things are closed on a Sunday so looking to do anything you think would be worthwhile

What "main tourist sites" are you going to see on the Saturday? As there are way too many to see in one day - leaving lots for the Sunday and other visits.

St Magnus Cathedral, Bishops & Earls Palaces in Kirkwall, shops (including lots of factastic crafts and food), Ring of Brodgar, Maes Howe, Skara Brae, Tomb of the Eagles, Italian Chapel, Churchill Barriers, Brough of Birsay, Broch of Gurness, Brough of Deerness, the Gloup, Yesnaby, Corrigall and Kirbuster Farm museums, Tankerness House museum ... and then amazing beaches to walk along, hunt for groattie buckies, wildlife spotting - puffins, seals and lots more. And that's before you even think about the other islands and the things to do there - puffins watching at the Castle o' Burrian, more gorgeous beaches, more archaeological sites, the shortest scheduled flight in the world.....

There is absolutely loads to do in Orkney on a Sunday. Whilst a number of the shops in Kirkwall close and maybe one or two other places, most tourist attractions are open and there are also places like Brodgar and Stenness that don't have opening and closing times. Unlike the Western Isles, Orkney does not close down on a Sunday.
