Bicycles on train

Planning to go to Aviemore next weekend with my kids. How do I organise transporting 3 bikes on train from Glasgow?

In most cases "replacement buses" are coaches which can take bikes in the underfloor hold (even though they say they can't be carried).

But of course no guarantee.

Thanks OB.

If it was just me going, I might chance it. As it's space for 3 bikes that I need, I think it's pushing my luck.

Four of us were planning on going on the train to newtonmore with bikes this weekend as well - but the replacement bus scuppered that plan - cars now. So that's at least 7 of us. Scotrail missing a trick here - need to get their bike provision sorted.

Even when the trains are running, the booking system could be more transparent, unless I'm missing something. I have to select each train on the timetable to see how many cycle spaces are available.
