5 star self catering needed Acharacle/Fort William area

Looking for a gorgeous house to rent with great views of the coast or a loch in August. Cottage must have 3 or more beds. Budget to £1400 per week. For 2 adults and 2 kids. Any suggestions please...interested in any houses around Fort Willam area even going south to North Ballachulish but liked the look of the beaches around the Acharacle area.

Sorry - I missed the '5 star' bit in your heading! Most self-catering properties on the Ardnamurchan and Morvern peninsulas tend to be small and quite simple - often modernised traditional highland cottages, or small modern properties.

Try this agency for posher places, although they don't have many in the specific area you are considering : http://www.cottages-and-castles.co.uk/

If it's beaches that you are interested in would you consider other areas? Harris has fabulous beaches and some stunning houses

and there are great beaches on the far north coast in Wester Ross and on the Moray Firth

We stayed at a cottage near Glenborrodale on the Ardnamurchan peninsula a couple of times many years ago, but the cottage is no longer available.

But have a look at this one which is also on Loch Sunart, and within relatively easy driving distance to Acharacle:

The area is beautiful, but very remote and with mostly simple facilities. We rented a boat a couple of times, and went on wonderful walks.

We came accross these cottages when we were looking for something over Christmas. As it happened we really wanted to go much further north so didn't look any further into them - might give you some ideas:

I'm actually in one of these cottages just now. They are 5 star, 3 beds all ensuite. A deer came up to the window last night and didn't bat an eyelid when she saw us.

Thanks Gailnic I did come across this cottage and loved the look of the location of the cottage perched on the edge of the hillside but there was a lack of photos of inside the cottage so decided not to pursue.

I ended up booking this cottage which I believe is very close to where you are staying. I hope you have a wonderful time. The area looks amazing.
