We are staying at the Hilton Grosvenor can we take the 500 bus right to our hotel? cost? also what would a taxi cost. Tks Dave
Hi, Not sure if the 500 stops there but its a fiver each way and 7.50 return I think. There's another bus that stops at many places and takes longer. further bus info on glasgow airports own website. I think a taxi is around 20 pounds depending on traffic levels/time of day.
The 500 goes direct to the city centre so is no use for your hotel.
You could take it to Queen Street station and then get the subway from next door Buchanan Street to Hillhead which is close to your hotel.
There is also the 747 bus which will get you to Kelvin Hall subway which is one stop from Hillhead.
A taxi would be the the easiest way and if there are 2 of you not too expensive.
as above the 747 only drops you off at the bottom of byres rd and the hilton is at the very top so a good 12-15 minute walk plus the 747 is as slow as a week in the jail and takes a crazy route more akin to a local service as opposed to an express airport service.
on this occasion i would recommend route direct on a taxi at around £20 and approx 15 mins
Thanks for all the info, we will take a taxi and use the buses when we don't have luggage. Tks Dave
