Convenience store/supermarket near the Central Station?

Just to pick up little bits like milk for the coffee in the hotel room, sandwitches etc. Any of them open late? (Leaving in 3 days, so a quick response would be greatly appreciated!)

I think there is a Tesco Extra (small supermarket) in Argyll St about 10 minutes walk from the Central Station. Exit down the stairs on the right onto Union Street then left at the bottom onto Argyll St. There may well be somewhere closer, I'm sure other TA people will let you know. The Tesco will have a good range for you, not sure when it closes, but it's unlikely to be 5pm, probably later.

Some of the shops in the station itself may sell milk etc if you arrive late.

Have a good trip! Bring your woollies, it's getting chilly!

Thank you, that was quick!

I don't mind the cold as much as the rain, but then again it's only one more reason to find nice pubs to stay in, lol!

Turn right at the front of the station and there is a Somerfield store, there is a Marks & Spenser inside the station open until 22:00hrs.

Larger stores can be found within 10 minutes walk, but for the basics, the two stores mentioned above will do fine.

The Marks and Spencer inside Central Station is small, but great for essentials, and also for ready made meals and 'picnic' stuff like sandwiches, sushi, wraps, ready made salad bowls, crisps, snacks and drinks.

There's also a Sainsburys at the top right hand side of Buchanan Street by the Buchanan Galleries - not sure what time it closes though. You're spoiled for choice really. There are also a few small convenience stores in the streets close to the station which stay open pretty late.

Have a great trip and look forward to hearing about it on your return.

Bon Voyage!

Dont know if you've already left, but if you are arriving really late the supermarkets like Tesco, Somerfield and M&S might have closed. But there are a few 24 hr stores dotted around the city centre.

I'm pretty sure the one right outside Central on Gordon Street (the main entrance) is open all hours.

Enjoy your trip....
