bus transportation

We need to get from Edinburgh to St. Andrews by bus on Sunday, July 25th. Do you know if the bus runs that day?

Do you know anything about the Highland Games in St. Andrews on the 25th?

The bus runs virtually every day of the year as per the timetable, you can also get the train to Leuchars and bus from there - you can buy a combined ticket at Edinburgh. Just note that trains and buses start later and finish earlier on Sundays

The Highland Games in St.Andrews on July 25th have the following events

Running, Cycling, Heavy Weights, Tug-of-war, Solo Piping & Highland Dance and are held in the Station Park which you will pass on your way into St.Andrews. I presume the bus will stop to let you off by taking the old road past the entrance to Station Park itself. It starts at 1pm and finishes at 5pm. Its £5 for entrance and £3 for concessions (Presume that's OAPs, children etc.) You can walk into St.Andrews from the park - its only a short stroll. Hope you get a good day for it. You are also very close to the famous Old Course (golf) and the beautiful West Sands. Other attractions such as the old ruined Castle and Cathedral as well as the pier and harbour are at the far end of town. St. Andrews is well worth exploring so I hope you can do both.
