We will be travelling by car from York to Edinburgh on a Tuesday morning in May. Im just finalising my journey there to make the most of the day. I was thinking of stopping at Holy Island or Bamburg on the way and visit the castle. I have checked the tides at Holy Island and as we would want 2-3 hours the timimg would be fine.
Any suggestions as to which would be the better one to do as they both appear to have beautiful scenery etc anyway. I know ultimatly with a lot of places its personal choice but you locals would know better that I can read in the glossy internet descriptions
Also any suggestions for somewhere pretty to stop for a bite to eat after we have been to the castle if you have one would be lovely.
thank you all
