Binniemyre House

We stayd at this B & B in Aug 2010 as we were on a night out with friends, We paid £35 each but this does not included a cooked breakfast which was £5 extra (which is not stated on website).

We arrived on the Saturday afternoon, there was no one to welcome us, a key was left on the desk with our name and direction to room. The room had a double bed and single bed, sofa, tv and tea making facilities was nice enough. However the en-suite was tiny, cracked sink, no toiletries, tiny bit of soap, horrible small rough towels and smelled moudly. The room hadn't been hoovered and there was a dead wasp on windowsill.

We left the next day without breakfast as it wasn't worth it to get up for 8am - 9am for continental breakfast.

We never saw the owners at all, pictures on website are lovely but don't be fooled, would not recommend this b & B, need updating and more warmth

You should post this in the review section of TA rather than the forums as it will remain there for others to see. The posts on the forums fall down the list on a daily basis as new ones come in.

This doesn't seem to be an isolated incident as the issue of extra for breakfast was raised in TA last year.

There are also negative comments here:

It has a 3 star rating from the tourist board. You could always write to Scottish Tourist Boasrd and express your concerns and ask them to review the guest house.

The web site does say room plus breakfast. Is that continental breakfast and is the £5 for a full Scottish breakfast? Is this something Trading Standards would investigate?

This place is a dump - 35 per nite each, rubbish beds very poor 5 pund brekkie. The place looks great from the outside but once inside its rubbish flakey paint, mouldy showers, pee stained toliet seats, curly hairs in the shower. The male owner was great the first day but would not shut up when having or brekkie. However the next day he was in a terrible mood when we had to ask for more bread as there was mould on the stuff we had to toast. We ltf that day and think the nxt time we will stay in the public toliet as it was much cleaner inside
