Glen Hotel or Clovenfords Hotel

Hi guys, looking for a cosy 1 night stay in a hotel to relax and to break up a journey, these two seem to fit the bill. Looking for somewhere with nice food and a nice bar with maybe access to short sightseeing walks for the following day. Any one recommend either of these or another hotel within 20 miles?

Thanks

Not stayed in either but know where they are. Glen Hotel is in Selkirk so has the advantage that you can wander around the town or visit other bars. Clovenfords sits directly on a road junction which can be a wee bit busy and apart from commuter style houses there's not much else in the immediate vicinity. It had a decent 'local' bar but don't know about the food.

Either will give you access to decent walks. From Clovenfords there are nice walks at Yair on The Tweed just a couple of miles away. From Selkirk you can go up the Ettrick or Yarrow valleys. If you want to go a bit more upmarket have a look at the Dryburgh Abbey Hotel just beyond Melrose.

Hi there, thanks for that. Due to the location we have opted for the Glen hotel, it also seems to have better reviews, and we will like to have a wander around the town. It seems to be set in quite a queit area too.

Thanks again.

Hi there

I know Selkirk really well and I would also recommend the County Hotel which is right in the heart of the town. Lovely food and nice rooms. They have a website.
