Scotrail confirms second season for Sunday return from Edinburgh to Oban
ScotRail is to run a second season of Sunday train services for day-trippers to Oban direct from Edinburgh.
The Edinburgh to Oban trains will be scheduled for a series of ten Sundays from 26th June 2011 to 28th August 2011 inclusive.
The services will now also call in both directions at Falkirk High and Dalmuir – and at stations Helensburgh Upper and Connell Ferry, with Falls of Cruachan on request.
It enables visitors to Scotand’s capital city in the east to take an easy day out to the fabled west coast and to the unforgettable plummet of Oban from the heights of its crowning folly of McCaig’s tower to the bay.
