Accommodation was pretty much full in Cardiff several weeks ago. You may get advice on availability in surrounding areas by contacting Cardiff Tourist Information:

In terms of driving to Cardiff on the day, you will be able to park in the city centre if you get in by about 9.30 for a 3pm kick off. If you enter via Junction 32 and then follow the A470 into the city there are lots of temporary car parks set up as you approach the city centre. If you are not there by 10am you will start to find it difficult to park in the city centre so it is best not to bother (I happened to be driving into Cardiff city centre last Saturday on the day of the FA cup final and crowds of people were already parking and walking in at 9.30).

However, there are extensive park and ride arrangements all over the outskirts of the city and you are very well signposted to these as you drive along the M4, so you should have no problems parking somewhere.

I cannot stress enough that you allow plenty of time to get to Cardiff. At 11.30am last Saturday the M4 westbound was slow all the way as far back as the Severn Bridge. (we were going the otherway and had the motorway all to ourselves - it was great fun seeing all the flags etc though)

If you are driving from London I suggest you set off by 8am at the latest - there is plenty to do when you are in the city centre - loads of pubs and good match day atmosphere, plenty of places to wander about so get there early and enjoy it.

Hi,

Just an idea but have u looked into serviced apartments? go to : http://servicedlets.com/cardiff

You could try parking in Cathays, it's 5 min walk from town, but u need to get there early.

Good luck

Think about travelling in from one of the Valleys on the regular train service and getting a hotel in, say, somewhere like Caerphilly which is 20 minutes into Cardiff General Station by train. Best to leave the car out of Cardiff!
