Which Hotel for legoland?

Flying over the last week of July to take grandson to Legoland. Would have liked to have booked into the resort hotel but that's fully booked and I just cant work out which hotel to stay in. There's two adults and a five year old, flying into Heathrow mid day ish. Would like a hotel that ideally has something to occupy the child or be close enough to the town to get out to easily ( no car ) and we also need to be close enough to get the shuttle to Legoland - or be within reasonable taxi distance.

Getting drawn to the Beaumont, although not sure as to which train station or bus stop to alight at from Heathrow, but any better ideas??

You really need an expert here - where does the shuttle to Legoland go from?

There are shuttles from Heathrow to the local hotels, some of which are then close enough to Legoland to get a taxi reasonably.

Many hotels in the Heathrow area have leisure pools, so a great idea for a 5yr old for the afternoon.

Hi Suki,

There are a number of guest houses within walking distance of the town center:

There is a bus service which leaves from the town center for Legoland and a taxi should cost in the region of £7 or £8.

There are 2 railway stations in Windsor but neither of them are useful for travel to/from the airport. Indeed, you are much better off getting a taxi.

Hope this helps for a start.

The macDonald is a very nice hotel across from the Castle and near the shuttle.

If you wanted something a bit cheaper, I would try the Trooper Inn.

They also offer discounted Legoland tickets.

Enjoy.

Some shuttles go from Slough town center too, it would be cheaper to stay there than Windsor, but it's definitely not a tourist place and nowhere near as nice as Windsor!

I would recommend staying in the centre of Windsor (or within walking distance) - there is loads to do for the whole family and you'll be able to get out to Legoland easily. Sorry can't make any real suggestions....my parents live locally so have never had any need to stay in Windsor.

Not been to Legoland for a long time but a family member works there - she always recommends that you buy the queue jump card (or whatever it's called) - it apparently saves loads of time and makes for a much more enjoyable day out at Legoland.

Hope you sort the accommodation and have a great time.
