Hotel near train station

Planning on taking my husband to a Leeds football match in November. As we're arriving by train we'd like a nice hotel close by.Thought we'd take a taxi to Elland Road (its an evening match) or is there a bus shuttle service?

I used to stay in the Hilton on Neville Street a lot. Maybe 400 yards to walk from the railway station. Was OK when I was using it in the 90s - don't know if it's deteriorated since then.

Nearest hotel to the train station is the Queens Hotel, which is built pretty much on top of the station. Other hotels nearby, and all withing 5 minutes walking distance are The Hilton (still good, was refurbished around 10 years ago), Park Plaza, The Marriott, Novotel and the Travelodge City Centre.

A taxi from the city centre would be around £7 but the roads around the ground can get quite congested at game time.

A better option would be the shuttle bus, service #R2 which depart from Sovereign Street just a couple of minutes walk from the train station. Fares are detailed on the link to WY Metro website below.
