worth visiting??

Thinking of going away for easter with my fiance......went to york a couple of years ago which was lovely and am looking for something similar. Just for a relaxing break, nice food drink and a bit of sightseeing. Does Oxford fit the bill??? Thanks in advance!!

Bicester village at Easter......best get there seriously early, it gets rammed, especially as most shops there can trade on the Sunday

if you liked York you'd probably like Chester and there are lots of places to eat. Also a food and drink festival at Easter http://chesterfoodanddrink.co.uk/camperfest/. You can walk around the walls, take a boat trip on the river, maybe see a gladiator in the remains of the ampitheatre. The Oxford colleges are beautiful and of course you could (should IMHO) take a punt out on the river. You can get someone to punt for you but half the fun is trying it yourself. Dont know how accessible Bicester village is without a car, someone local might be able to tell you. Driving into central Oxford is no fun. I'd probably say Oxford was the more romantic city but also likely to be more crowded and more expensive.
