What can we see after taking a 10- 5:30 Cotswold tour.

We are taking a Cotswold Roaming tour on a Saturday. 10.A.M. to 5:30. P.M. We are taking the 8:30 train back to London. Any suggestions on what we can do or see in that short time in Oxford. We have never been there. Thanks! Jean

Assuming you will be visiting during the long days of summer... First I would duck quickly into the Ashmolean Museum, which closes at 6pm, for a quick look around. It's free, and it's quite an extraordinary museum. From there, I would walk down the Broad Street, soaking in the atmosphere of the beautiful, ancient buildings. At the end of Broad, turn right down Catte and walk past the famous and most photographed building in Oxford - the Radcliffe Camera. Continue until you hit the High Street, then turn right. Walk down the High until you reach Carfax - the intersection of the High, St Aldates, Cornmarket and Queen Street, where you'll see Carfax Tower. Cross over Queen and walk with your eyes closed (ugly street), until it turns into New Road, and turn left into the Oxford Castle Quarter. There is a beach being built in the market square, with a barbecue and live entertainment on weekends. Grab yourself a pint and a burger or sausage from the barbie, and chill out until your train. The station is a 7 minute walk from the Castle. Enjoy!
