Hen Do - Restaurant Advice & Recommendations

Hi going on a hen night in a couple of weeks and we need to still arrange somewhere to eat, we're doing It's a Knock Out during the day.

We're staying at the Holiday Inn Express on Upper Parliament Street and then we also have entry into Oceana Nightclub included in the package. Therefore looking for somewhere to eat a group of 14 ladies which is ideally located and ideally somewhere which is a set price to avoid having to mess sorting the bill out at the end, we have looked at a few places but seen some terrible reviews, so thought about Alea Casino but the restaurant is closed for refurbishment :(

Any advice or tips greatly appreciated

Round the corner from your hotel, you have a good choice of restaurants like Fat Cats, Sinatras, Ask, Las Iguanas, etc.

There are a number of Indian restaurants on Maid Marrion Way which may have set menus! Such as Cumin, 4880 Miles From Delhi, Mem Saab.

Also, check out the Cornerhouse just off Parliament St near the Victoria Centre. There are a number of bars, restaurants in that area.

Nottingham has many stags/hens each weekend, you won't have any problems finding anywhere. Could be worth contacting each place I've listed to see if you can be accommodated.

Hope this helps.

Hello Janbo 25 and welcome to the Nottingham forum....yes there are plenty of places around about. I think the best thing to do if you went to an independent restaurant is to tell them what you want to spend and ask them what they are willing to do for that price. I went to my son's stag party at Mem Saab....only invited I think because he wanted me to pay....I just told them what the budget was and we had a lovely evening. Alternatively they do have fixed prices menus if you want to go for a formula. I was at 4550 miles from Delhi the other week and they had a selection of fixed price offerings. Have been to Mem Saab recently too, it is under new ownership and they are working very hard to keep their customers and build on the business they have bought. It depends what you like...but as BrezUk says the restaurants are well used to stag and hen parties and should easily be able to accomodate you....

by the way my wife on the same night ( as the stag party) went to Opium with the "hens"...and she felt that they did not get a fair deal....so thought I would mention that.

The Mayfair Chinese gets good reviews on this site, and although a little way out of the city centre might be worth considering. Especially as I see the reviews mention you can bring your own drinks along. It is about ten minutes walk up Mansfield Road, and the Peacock and Golden Fleece are both pubs where you can 'break the journey'

Dino's in Hockley is good for Hen Do's as it has a long table which will fit 14. The food is nice and they have deals on cocktails!!!!

Maybe Bistro Pierre on Milton Street or Petit Paris on Kings Walk. Both are very good and can accomodate a large group if you book beforehand.
