We will be leaving Matlock in Derbyshire on August 5 to arrive in Durham on the afternoon of the 8th for day one of the Ashes Test there on the 9th. Aussie Cricket Tragics! We will have 3 nights (Aug 5,6 &7) to make our way through Yorkshire. Our preference is to stay in one top-rating B&B that is very quiet but near pubs/ eateries, etc, and central to the Dales and so on, for day trips, However, we would be prepared to move daily if that was thought to be the best way.So, we are seeking B&B recommendations and sight-seeing tips. We are scenery lovers, rather that castle viewers. Not to say we don't enjoy history, but prefer it when delivered to us by a local expert, rather than just looking and wondering, so don't mind the odd guided tour. Also keen on steam trains and love to travel on them, if that's of any help. Looking forward to some tips.
