Hotel/ B&B near minister

Could anyone suggest accomadation close the minister, we stayed at the Guy Fawkes last year and would love to stay in that area again. I really enjoyed wandering round the shambles etc and found having it on our doors step for a couple of days brilliant.

Although we really enjoyed the Guy Fawkes hotel we would like to try somewhere different - within budget ideally around £80 pn for a double room. We are planning to visit within the next month or so.

Thanks

The only ones I can think of in that close a proximity to the Minster is the Dean Court HOtel and Four High Petergate which might bust your budget a bit.

Glad you enjoyed the Guy Fawkes!

York is so compact that anything within the city walls is pretty close to the minster.

Bobelinks is right that York is compact but you're quite restricted in finding quality accomodation that close to the Minster.

If you could bear a five, or even ten minute walk to your hotel/B&B then there are lots of places you should consider.

Saying that though, there's nothing like the feel of the area immediately around the Minster late at night when it seems like you're the only ones there.

And while we're at it, you never got round to telling us how your last trip went!

I think you were asking about historic pubs??
