Hilton hotel between airports

We are flying into Gatwick and out of Heathrow with a 1 night stay in between. Could someone recommend a Hilton hotel to stay at (for the honours points!) that has relatively easy access to each airport and is in a decent area for eating/shopping during our quick stop. I'm not super familiar with London and with so many hotels to choose from, it's difficult to know which is best. Thank you!

Unless you want to travel from Gatwick to central London then make your way from the city centre to the airport, the Hilton at LHR T4 would be an ideal choice.

If you want to stay in London then let us know the time of day and day of the week for flight arrival and departure, especially at Heathrow.

What time do you land at gatwick and what time do you depart heathrow? You would have to go to central London for some night life, then back out to heathrow, it may not be worth it, there is a Hilton at t4 to make life easy.

We arrive at Gatwick at 17:10 and leave Heathrow the next day at 15:00. So I'm thinking staying in Central London, check in, head out for dinner/night life (just realized the shops will be closed!) and then back to the hotel to sleep. The next morning, get up, have breakfast and check out, head out to Heathrow.

What about the Hilton London Tower Bridge? Are any of the others better, and would the airport transfers be easy? Is it located near metro stations (I'm ok with subway/bus transfers).

The Hilton Tower Bridge would be fine, a nice hotel on the south bank of the Thames.

Travel to Heathrow will take about an hour and a quarter. Jubilee line from London Bridge station to Green Park. Alight, take the escalator up to the ticket hall then another back down to the Piccadilly line for a train towards T1,3 and T5 or to T4 and T1,3. London Bridge station has escalators from the ticket hall to the Jubilee line platforms, so it's a step free journey start to finish. The walk from the hotel to the Underground station is five minutes at most.

When you arrive at Gatwick, get the "FCC" train to Bedford, which stops at London Bridge (by that hotel). This has the happy coincidence of being both the fastest and cheapest way to your hotel. Don't get the train branded "express" which will cost you a lot more and take you to the wrong part of London.

The rail fare is £10 single - or if you'll be doing more things on arrival day, buy the "FCC travelcard" for £13 which covers the train ride and any further travel within London on arrival day.
