Train from Gatwick

Hi there

I am coming to London for the weekend with my wife and loand at Gatwick on the Friday morning. What is the best way to get into London from there ?

We have not booked the hotel yet but last time we stayed at the Holiday Inn Mayfair and so would look for something around this area again, although anything in the Covent Garden, Leicester Square, Regent St etc... areas are fine as we will be mainly doing touristy things and going the theatre in the evening.

Wait until after 9:30am to avoid commuters and - depending on where you are staying - take either the direct Southern Trains service to Victoria or the First Capital Connect train to London Bridge / St Pancras.

There are several other non-direct train options, some of which involve nothing more than getting off a train, waiting at the same platform then getting another train but it depends where you end up staying

As Alan says it depends where you are staying. The more frequent trains go to Victoria but you should try to avoid peak travelling times.
