Passport photo needed for Travel Card?

Some of the guidebooks state that one needs to bring a small passport-type photo to use when purchasing a Travel Card? Is this true?

If so, and if we don't manage to get it done here -- there will be a way to get it done in London? Yes?

but if for any reason at all you do find that you need a passport sized photo for any kind of ID there are photo booths at many many locations throughout London and the UK that will produce four passport sized photos in less than 5 minutes for a couple of pounds or so.

Hi. I just purchased travelcards for my upcoming visit in May/June. You do not need any picture. I decided it was the best value for us, because you can purchase 2for 1 vouchers with them to many of the typical tourist attractions. Anita
