Heathrow to Baker Street

Have I worked this out correctly to get to Baker Street from Heathrow airport by tube?

Take the Picadilly Line to Picadilly Circus. Change to the Bakerloo Line and get off at Baker Street. We are staying at a B&B in York Street.

Approximately how long would this journey take? It will be around mid-day on a week day.

Sorry we must have missed this. It's been busy this week for some reason.

Slightly quicker to get off at Green Park and switch to the Jubilee line although the walk between lines can seem endless with a lot of luggage. From Baker Street it's about a 10-15 minute walk to your accommodation. Allow 70 minutes door to door.

Much quicker but also much more expensive would be the Heathrow Express train to Paddington (£16.50 per person, 4 trains an hour with a journey time of 15 minutes) followed by a £6-8 taxi ride.

You have it correct. It probably will take around 45 min as there are quite a few stops between Heathrow and central London. But the tube is the cheapest way to get there.

For that journey, I would probably get the Heathrow Connec to Paddington, and then take the Bakerloo line to Baker Street.

If comfort and speed is more important than money, I'd consider the Heathrow Express for the leg to Paddington, and consider a cab from there to Baker STreet.

Rather than fiddle about with the change at Piccadilly, you can make the journey step-free if you're willing to take a little extra time.

From LHR take the Piccadilly line to Hyde Park Corner. Sit at the front of the train, in the first car, as that's nearest the way out. There is also (handy) an escalator up from the train platform to the ticket hall at Hyde Park Corner.

After you pass through the barriers, walk out of the station and look left, towards exit 1, Knightsbridge north. There is a ramp up from the subway to street level.

When you get to street level, you'll be at a bus stop. You need the number 74 towards Baker Street from stop W; from there take the bus to the stop at Dorset Street, just two streets away from York Street.
