Gatwick airport to Baker Street station best transport?

Hi fellow travelers,

My plane is more than 12 hours delayed and rerouted to Gatwick Airport arrival around 11 am .

1) what is the best way to get in to London at this time of the day? Gatwick Express or regional train using national rail site?

Can someone walk me through the airport and transaction to obtain ticket and get in train please?

2) if we buy national rail tickets, how do we use this for dayout promotions in London?

Thanks a million guys!!!!

Gatwick Express will come in at Victoria. However, if your Gatwick trains comes in at London Bridge. You can take the Jubilee Line to Barker Street.

There are others routes, but they would involve more train changes.

I will leave it to others, if there are better options.

There will be leaflets around to explain this, when you land or even at your hotel. Will you this on the day your arrive?

If you have a contactless bank card or Apple Android Pay, you don't need to waste any time buying a ticket. Just tap at the entrance gate and tap out at the other end - for your time of day it'll also be the cheapest payment option. If you don't have those, just buy a ticket from the station ticket office.

The railway station is attached to the south terminal, simplicity itself to find. Take any train going via Farringdon and change there for a train to Baker Street. (The suggestion to change at London Bridge is valid, but the change at Faringdon is easier - and the route of trains from Faringdon are more suited to carrying luggage)

Do NOT take the train branded Express. That costs more and furthermore going via Victoria requires multiple changes in order to reach Baker Street.
