Place to stop and eat

Hi we are visiting london for a couple of days and would like some help for day 2 (Friday 27th July)

So far planned

10am visit the shard

Then nothing really planned apart from a river cruise down to the london eye area.

Just having a chilled day as we have a show that night.

So basically am looking for somewhere to eat lunch. Don't want anywhere fancy, just somewhere relaxed with great food and a good choice.

Any recommendations?

Prime Gelato
$, Italian, Cafe, Deli
Coffee, Cake & Kisses
$$ - $$$, Cafe, Contemporary, Fusion
Pizza Union Dalston

Borough market is very close. Loads of market stalls selling hot food to take away. It’s not cheap but it’s good.

Is there anything around the london eye? As I'm not sure if we would be still up by the shard/tower pier area or by down the london eye area.

Thank you

I've been looking using Google maps but there is so much choice so trying to get a few recommendations that I could look at. I find that recommendations are the way to go.

I like the sound of borough Market. Is there anywhere to sit and people watch while you eat.

Also is there any street food stalls on the south Bank? Hoping for sun as it's in July. So hoping to be able to sit and enjoy the sun while we eat.

Not fancy, but functional? Definitely go to the Borough Market.

There is a seating area in the entrance to the market, though this is often full at busy times, and not very ambient. All around the market though, there are small cafes, restaurants, pubs and bars, and stalls with seating (Stoney Street has many of these options).

I agree with the recommendation to look around here. Borough Market is foodie heaven and there are many free samples on offer if you want to try the goodies. You can also take your food to London Bridge and watch the river flow and the City bustle around you as you munch away.
