Best weekend afternoon tea in London?

Looking for suggestions for afternoon tea. Moderately priced suggestions that are ok with a casual dreads code (will be on vacation so will not have anything formal). Anywhere in London, closer to the city center is more preferred, but willing to try anywhere.

Thank you

What do you consider a moderate price please? £20-30 a head or...?

Do you want only tea and scones or the full afternoon tea experience eg sandwiches, scones, cake? If the latter you might be prepared to pay more as you won't need dinner!

You say best and moderately priced, Sadly the two don't really go together but here are a couple that at least (in my opinion) offer decent value in nice surroundings -

If those are too expensive then please give us an idea of your budget and what you are expecting.

Fortnum & Mason has a branch at St. Pancras railway station. The setting is closer to an upmarket coffee shop, but they serve an afternoon tea which looks fairly pukka for £24, a baby would not be too disruptive, the dress is casual and the service was good when I had Fortnum's marvellous Welsh Rabbit there one evening.

I don't know if reservations would be wise.

Another great page for afternoon tea in London to look at is: https:/…

Be sure to check-out their offers page. They've currently got a 22% discount across all Virgin Experience Days. TA10E39 - enter at check-out.

Hope you find something nice. Keen to find out where you eventually go.

I'm not sure if you're still looking for something reasonable. I've found an online offer with Bookatable for Wren's Tea room at St Paul's cathedra. Only £20 per person. Definitely casual. Available on Saturdays but not on Sundays.
