There is a free UK website www.transportdirect.info that does a door to door evaluation.

Basically to get to Louth get a train from Kings Cross to Newark. Change there for train to Lincoln. Then a short walk to Lincoln Bus Station for a bus to Louth. Total journey time 3h 5 mins.

Note that if you leave London after 9.30 / 10am then the train fares are much cheaper (up to 75% off), especially if booked in advance (to Lincoln).

Don't go on a day when the north or east wind is blowing unless well wrapped up.

Driving?

M25 - A1, A1 come off at Colsterworth and then follow the A52 from Colsterworth through to Tattershall, Coningsby, Horncastle and then Louth. Takes me about 3-4 hrs to get to Horncastle depending on the time of day.

Publi Transport? Don't bother!! It will take you all day.
