Looking to book a holiday for my Grandparents in Keswick. They don't have a car, does anyone know what the bus service is like in Keswick?

Hi, not sure what you are asking...is it how to get to Keswick by bus? sorry can't help. BUT if you mean are there buses to explore the rest of the Lake District from Keswick , yes there are. We visit regularly by car but often visit other towns Grasmere Ambleside, Bowness etc etc by bus. There are buses to other smaller towns and villages which are very useful if you enjoy walking. We often bus out further down Derwentwater and walk back. The station is in the centre of town and the Tourist information centre can help with times. As we are of a certain age we have bus passes and travel free!

Good connections along the A66 to Penrith or Cockermouth, down to Ambleside, Windermere and Kendal.

Also circular route to Buttermere and down to Borrowdale.

Assuming they are over 60 it will be free ! Otherwise buy a daily or longer pass as the buses are not particularly cheap.

Some services only run during the Summer holidays or at weekends.

Stagecoach is the main local provider.

Most people dont need a bus within Keswick but there are always the local taxis.

There is a list of timetables on the council web site. Scroll down to see routes that serve Keswick.
