Butchers in Ambleside or Windermere

Hi, got a house for a group of friends next month and we want to have a BBQ, and I would like to go to a butchers as oppose to Tesco. The house is about 2 miles from Ambleside and 2.2 miles from Windermere train station, so does anyone have any recommendations for a good quality butchers that will have good BBQ food? There will be a car, so we can drive. Any help much appreciated.

I don't rate the butchers in Ambleside at all, selection was poor & products (sausaged & burgers) were VERY fatty! There is a VERY good butchers, but slightly further afield in both Coniston & Keswick. The butchers in Coniston is down near The Crown Inn, it's at the back of the general store. I highly recommend their spicy cumberland sausage!! but the cumberland sausage from Keswick butchers is even better!!

If your driving up from Manchester, stop of at Plumgarths Farm Shop, just North of Kendal several miles after you come off the motorway or visit Richardsons butchers in Bowness, they do BBQ trays for reasonable prices and the meat is excellent.
